CMB Selected One of 2004 China Top 500 Enterprises for Informationization
 
The list of "2004 China Top 500 Enterprises for Informationization" was officially unveiled on Jan. 15 in Beijing. This selection event was sponsored by the StateInformationization Evaluation Center, co-sponsored by China Information Society and the Internet Weekly. China Merchants Bank's name appears on the final list.

Building on its strong capacity in development, the China Merchants Bank introduced on November 18 last year the "Fortune Account" that made a major breakthrough in bankcard service modes. This new service is a brand new fund-managing instrument that integrates network sources based on all available bankcards to facilitate all-around personal assets management. This product offers a basic account for integrated management of personal assets, which also serves as the base for management of various functional bankcards. The account is also connected to different investment channels, making it possible for integrated personal fortune management. With "Fortune Account" at the center, the needs for all kinds of daily financial arrangement (consumption and payment) and the need for assets appreciation through investment are well balanced, thus solving the problems in payment among many cards and many accounts.

China Merchants Bank was by far the first one among local banks to offer personal fund management service in the form of account, and this personal fund management approach that combines On-line Banking, Call Center and service outlets was also the first of its kind in China. Some media reports said the introduction of this service opens a new era for China's personal fund management market.
