Service Features How to Apply Service Channels

In case you need to pay a beneficiary abroad, or to receive proceeds from abroad, you may choose "Overseas Remittance" service offered by China Merchants Bank for settlement. Overseas Remittance service covers two categories: inward remittance and outward remittance.

Service Features

Multi-currencies, world-wide service: Proceeds in different currencies could be transferred between various countries and regions (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Province);

2.

Multi-purposes remittance: suitable for overseas Chinese, their relatives living in China, Chinese residents whose children are studying abroad, representative officers of overseas organizations in China, and other clients who need to receive or pay foreign currencies;

3.

Easy reception of proceeds: An "All-in-one-card" account supports several sub-accounts in different currencies. Even if your All-in-one-card has only Renminbi savings, China Merchants Bank will automatically open a current savings account in foreign currency to accommodate the remittance. You do not have to come to counters to open the new account in foreign currency particularly for that remittance.

Convenient and fast: China Merchants Bank is a member of SWIFT, equipped with advanced international electronic remittance technology. Domestic administrative levels is few and primarily in the form of branches. CMB also offers you detailed remittance route guidance so that the proceeds will be credited into beneficiary's account at soonest time (normally no longer than 3 working days).

No service charges for inward remittance (There may be fee deductions by overseas intermediary banks).

Inward remittance comes in original currency: Incoming remittance enters into currency account, which ensures your full right to the remittance.

How to Apply

1. Outward remittance: Outward remittance must be processed according to the relevant rules of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange on personal foreign exchanges.

For Outward Remittance:

@Please provide the beneficiary's correct name, A/C number, the address (if any), name and address of beneficiary's bank, correspondent of beneficiary's bank, the A/C number (if any).

@Please also specify the remittance currency, amount and the bearer for foreign bank's charges (if not specified, all charges are to be borne by beneficiary); in case there is a message for beneficiary, please include it briefly in the remarks column.

2. Inward Remittance

·The overseas remitter may choose any foreign bank, be it through telegraphic transfer, mail transfer or draft order. CMB will pay beneficiary through its advanced and efficient international electronic remittance system at soonest time;

·If you want to remit some money from abroad to a domestic beneficiary, you only need to fill in the name of beneficiary (in mandarin spelling) following CMB's instruction on route of remittance, account number of "All-in-one-card" or foreign currency bankbook held with China Merchants Bank.

·In case the beneficiary has no account with China Merchants Bank, you only need to indicate the type and number of the beneficiary's ID, telephone number and address. CMB will open an account for beneficiary to accommodate the remittance as soon as possible, and inform the beneficiary to claim the money.

Telegraphic Transfer is strongly recommended for inward remittance for it is safe and fast.
Bill of exchange with CMB as payer is recommended for border trade.
