"Bankbook" is a savings account offered by China Merchants Bank to the public for personal current deposit in both local and foreign currencies.

Service Features

  1. Bankbook accounts whose withdrawal is protected by password are honored at any China Merchants Bank banking offices within the same city of issuance.
  2. Same password is shared for withdrawal and account information inquiries.
  3. Current savings in different currencies do not share a same bankbook.
  4. Transaction details clearly recorded in the bankbook.
  5. Bankbook holders can apply for services such as Bank-Securities Express, Self-service Savings Transfer, and Self-service Fee Payment.

Functions Overview

1.

City-wide deposit and withdrawal: For bankbook protected by password, deposit and withdrawal is honored at any China Merchants Bank banking offices within the same city of issuance; 

2.

Self-service transferring of proceeds: After applying for self-service transferring service at CMB counters, you can transfer your proceeds between bankbook accounts and "All-in-one-card" accounts (all under your name) through self-service channels including CMB Telephone Banking;

3.

Account Information Inquiry service: Bankbook account information inquiry service is available through service channels including CMB banking offices, Call centre (service phone No.:95555), Internet Banking Service, ATM and Self-service banking Terminals.

4.

Self-service Fee Payment: After applying for Self-service Fee Payment service function at CMB banking offices, or through Telephone Banking or Internet Banking, you can pay fees and charges yourself to pertinent parties having authorized CMB for collection service via Call centre (service phone No.:95555), Internet Banking.

5.

Payout and Collection Agent: CMB offers salary payroll or fee collection agent service for institutional and individual clients upon their authorization in writing.

How to apply
Please carry your ID in person to any offices of China Merchants Bank to apply for a bankbook. If applying for others, ID proofs of both the applicant and the proxy are needed.
