There are three major modes of remittance:
·Telegraphic Transfer (T/T): Fast and safe, but at higher cost;
·Mail Transfer (M/T): Slower, but at lower cost;
·Demand Draft (D/D): Suitable for cash on delivery trade.

They can be further divided into inward remittance and outward remittance based on the direction of fund movement.
Outward Remittance (making payment)
Upon your instructions, China Merchants Bank (CMB) will transfer your proceeds through T/T, M/T or D/D to the overseas beneficiary you designate.
Inward Remittance (receiving payment)
For the sake of your safe and quick reception of the remittance, we suggest that you request the overseas remitter to send the proceeds through T/T, the safest and quickest means.
In a cash-on-delivery cross-boarder trade scenario, you may request the overseas remitter to choose a correspondent bank of CMB, and issue a draft drawn on CMB as the paying bank.
Please follow China Merchants Bank Inward Remittance Guide, and inform the overseas remitter of your account information.
China Merchants Bank Inward International Remittance Guide
