In the morning of December 29, 2004, China Merchants Bank won the FX cash pool project of GE (China). This is the first time that GE applies its global fund management pattern in US dollar management within China. GE (China) follows the international banking practice to organize the bidding procedure in China for about one year. And CMB finally won the project owing to its super strengths in the banking industry. GE, the "most critical company", selects CMB from many large domestic and overseas banks to be the first Chinese commercial bank providing FX cash pool service. This ends the monopoly of foreign banks over this section, showing the wisdom and courage of local Chinese banks.
