China Merchants Bank Chosen One of Most Promising Brands in China

Glebors Global Financial Report, a prestigious overseas financial magazine, recently carried the list of "Most Promising Chinese Brands" prepared by Rynand International Survey, a globally famous brand survey institute. The China Merchants Bank ranked the fourth in the list. The China Merchants Bank owes its outstanding performance to its unremitting innovation. Shortly after the introduction of "Fortune Account," the first integrated management platform for comprehensive personal financial service, CMB's "Dream Gas Station" and "Extraordinary Trip to Singapore" treatment to its credit cark clients soon became new hot points amid the "war of credit cards" in the country. In October 2004, the China Merchants Bank and ChinaCentral Television forged a strategic partnership, which was the first case of its kind where a strong mass media and a financial institution jointly provide integrated resources service. This move marked a big step of the China Merchants Bank towards its "50-percent Retail Bank" strategy. It is learned that the one-year-long selection of "the Most Promising Brands in China" had product quality, service performance, market performance, brand influence, stability in management, potential in brand development and brand image as its key criteria for evaluation. The selection was conducted by synthesizing the evaluation by a professional brand assessment institute and the feedback from emailed questionnaires to arrive at the final results. Apart from the CMB, Haier, Wuliangye, Lenovo, Guizhou Moutai, Hongta Group, Go Tone (of China Telecom), Tongrentang and Tsingdao Beer were also chosen.
