The China Merchants Bank Guangzhou Branch applied another new tactic in marketing – organizing the CMB Platinum Trip in cooperation with VISA and MASTER, the two leading international bankcard organizations, to send more than 300 delegates of Platinum Card holders to Hong Kong for a shopping tour. It is learned that this move was the first one of its kind in China's financial service sector. Golden Sunflower Card issued by the bank is also reportedly the first Platinum Card for fund management in Asia and Pacific region, and all cardholders are those whose personal account balance exceeds RMB500,000 yuan or its equivalent. All cardholders are entitled to Seven Special Services and "Seven VIP Services provided by the CMB. To date, the bank has issued some 3,000 Golden Sunflower cards in Guangzhou region.
